About the event
Maclayne is a Calgary- and Toronto-based independent singer-songwriter whose music is as fun and hooky as it is profound and powerful. A natural storyteller with a gift for connecting deeply with her audience, she blends folk and pop into a dynamic sound marked by heartfelt lyricism and a voice of striking warmth and character. Her debut album, "Off The Deep End", was named one of 2024's best by Calgary Herald and CBC Calgary, earned YYC (Calgary) Music Award nominations for Pop Recording of the Year and The Prophets of Music Emerging Artist Award, and was praised by the Herald as "a personal and riveting pop album about transformation." Maclayne is currently in the studio with Juno and Latin Grammy Award winning producer James Bryan (Nelly Furtado, Prozzäk) in Toronto recording her sophomore release.
